The year is 1957 and Eric Edis decides to follow his long term dream and do something that had never been done before – he is going to drive from London to Australia… and back again. From his hospital bed he begins to plan on scraps of paper, then brings together a team of mixed backgrounds to take on this massive adventure. One thing he can’t plan for in advance is the entry to the famous Burma/Ledo Road.
His book, The Impossible Takes A Little Longer, tells the full story but below are a number of photographs he kindly supplied to the Club for a talk he gave at our Camp Cambridge International Rally in 2012.
