
THE ROVER SYSTEM
Land-Rover used Rover’s system for numbering each vehicle with ‘Model Years’ changing during the summer – new Models being launched in the August when workers returned from their summer holiday. This means a vehicle built between August 1954 and July 1955 is described as a 1955 ‘model’.
