Funny how we tend to think of a LWB as a big vehicle but the Seat crossover thingy next door is wider and not much shorter. The land  rover has much. more space inside though. Boxes rule haha

Today I began an experiment to convert a bypass oil filter system to a full flow system

To clarify the process. Where you see the two machined areas of the upper oil filer housing that are in the tool holder I will block the oil in between here and take oil out the block from the lower machined part and bring it back in on the upper part.

spent Sunday at the Tewskesbury Classic Vehicle Show. Met a few familiar faces, ended up parked in the Bugatti Trust stand (that's just where they told me to go!)

And yes, the car to the right of me in the photo, behind the Bugatti is an early Vauxhall (30/98) so I wasn't the only interloper!

Just a trickle through the floor gaps.  The biggest problem is getting all the mud stains out of the engine bay and off the springs and chassis!!  (Apart from the mis-fires where the plug wells filled up!!).

Got stuck in traffic behind a Lancaster,   Last time I was here I also had to wait for the crew to get the Lanc. into the hanger berfore I could leave.

My son and I took our fresh restored 86" with around 50 miles on to the Leafer's at pit 2021 rally at the Apedale valley site.
First real trip in busy traffic and on major roads through Stoke on trent, though the trip was only around 25 miles each way the Land Rover behaved perfect , just sat at around 40 mph  all good.
Had a great day, my first real Land rover rally ever!
 Had a good look around at the other Land Rovers, plenty of chatting and made time for lunch and ice cream.
Did speak to alot of folks, must apologise I cant remember the names of the Land Rover owners who had series 1's there.
Mine is the 86" with the sand tilt in the first picture.

We took the 80" to the 'roads to rail' event at the Swanage railway, Plenty of photo ops in the industrial area of the Purbeck mining museum.

Not today, but on Saturday last weekend.

Went to attend my first local LR club gathering for over at least 10 years.
I used  be very active and also part of steering committees in younger days.

Enjoyable, but forgot yo take any pictures, there were no Series Ones (did not expect that) and only 3 other Land Rovers.
No activity apart from socializing around the barbeque, but nice weather and good to meet new people.

Still - have not seen another Series One up close for over 15 years, mostly myself to blame I guess.
