Changed the ignition switch ( again , having found a key to fit a spare one)
What a little pain of a job with 2 terminal screws underneath, lost the clamp bolt for the securing clip, broke off the terminal for the sidelights had to wire them through the dash lights (hope the switch is up to it)
Who says 50s vehicles are easy to work on theres a lot to be said for multiplugs

I sat in while the family pushed 'Fido' into the workshop!

When Lockdown 1.0 started, I did a big clearout of magazines and audio tapes into the workshop so that I could sort through them, digitise the ones I wanted to keep, and skip the rest. I've only just been able to clear the last of the junk out and get the workshop back again. SXF870 hasn't run well for a year, but it's always been too cold/wet to do proper work outside.

But today, with the plugs out, Low First engaged, and my son frantically winding the starting handle, we're now up the ramp into the workshop for investigation to start in earnest (with some paraffin heaters on!) Wish me luck.

As we are not in lock down at present, the only current restrictions being no restaurants or bars, and an 8.00pm to 6.00am curfew, I took the truck out for a drive down the Route des Chateaux to check my latest timing adjustment. A cold but sunny afternoon, timing was a tad retarded.

Frozen ground takes the tractor weight. It was -10 when I did the the cutting. There are times when a tractor cab would be nice.

Looked in at the 107Sw all tucked up nice and dry ( salty road grit residue free ) in the shed, and then gave it a free day. Never-the-less the trailer did go down to a secret local bay to collect kelp and seaweed from the high tide line. There it collects, swept up in stormy weather and gathers a good coating of lime rich shell sand, to help improve the soils in the garden and Polytunnel.

(The trailer did in fact follow an L-R product

..perhaps coz it had a heater as well.

)
