This photo shows my 107sw loaded with 400 kg of Pasteur fed beef recently butchered to go into boxes for sale. The farm pickup was too small!!

The last day of winter here. We spent the day chipping branches and spreading them on the garden.

Not sure if the photo will attach but I have my fingers crossed.

Took WYJ to do some hedge cutting ! Planted some oak tree saplings too, grown from acorns from a tree close to where Mum and Dad are buried. Over Peover.

Went to Bishops Castle Railway Society , Heritage weekend, Railway Weighbridge Open day . Social distancing etc. in operation .
LR Weighs 1 ton 10 cwt 2 qtr , but not calibrated

Tried to fit the door seals to my 86", gave up on the correct rivets and tried blind rivets, the drilling and drilling holes in the correct places on the seals was the big problem I had

.
Had to leave the shed with tools spread all over the place and walk the dog instead....took a while to calm down.

.

That is what I did in my Land Rover today!

The locals have started a periodic classic car coffee/beer/food meet at the local train station, so I drove the '53 80" on gentleman's farm work breaks yesterday and today .. first one with the top off, second one with the top on ('tis the season, my son was around to help, and the weather was a bit threatening). No complaints from the family on the efficacy of the Clayton heater. Firing on all cylinders, although my ear tells me that it eventually might need a ring and/or valve job on clylinder two ... I am monitoring closely.

Had my 2 litre Spreadbore out and managed to strip down most of it - only the clutch, flywheel and housing, camshaft and crankshaft with pistons to remove...

Then off to Oakham to have a minor split underneath the lower stud securing the engine mount to the block stitch welded. Thereafter off to "Uncle Ian Cox for a bottom end overhaul with Rover cylinder liners with high compression pistons and large gudgeon pinned connection rods. Also thanks to BEB Chris I have a Standard used Crankshaft to be regrouped hopefully to 10 though undersize on the mains and big end journals. Hopefully I will not see Ian again!
