Insurance for 300tdi 88"
- Mar 02, 2023 - 06:38
Morning all,

Just thinking about organising insurance for my 88" S1 with 300tdi, LT77 and few other non original bits..

For years I've used Hagerty for my standard 80"s but but when I mentioned my 88" they mentioned non standard wasn't there bag!

Any recommendations for insurers of similar non-standard vehicles?

Ta

Andy

I have insured my 200Tdi powered 88 series one with Adrian Flux for years without any problems. Renewed last October, 8000 miles limited mileage, value £15K, premium paid with 16 years no claim £150.40. Insurer is ERS.
1 Thank you.

I’ve used Cherished Car Insurance for the last couple of years - discovered them through insuring a tractor which is one of their specialisms.

Underwriter is KGM but I don’t know whether they can cover a modified vehicle. I pay @ £156 for my S1 plus 2 small motorcycles on limited mileage.

Cant understand the Hagerty non insurance as I always had both my 80” & 86” 3.5 V8 engine vehicle insured by them on a joint policy to include both vehicles on the road simultaneously one or other being driven by son as the named alternative driver. At one stage this also included my twin axle transport trailer being covered automatically for value of  5K at no additional cost. My new quote for my two vehicles starting 27/3 is only a couple of £ dearer than last year! Of course based on agreed mileage

Cherished are insuring my 200 di 86",    the mopdification  was notified before they issued the policy so there should be no issues.

Abit of an update!

Phoned Hagerty this morning, Added 88" with all listed modifications and removed my recently sold Defender 130.

After changes i had a rebate of £48 even though the S1 is insured for £7k more!👍
