Renewing subscriptions - difficulties with web renewal

I have today received my membership reminder.

I attempted to login to renew, using my membership number as the name, and the password included in the reminder notice.  The system says the user doesn't exist.  I asked what I was doing wrong.

It turned out that I was trying to log into the forum and not the membership system.

But I had followed exactly the instructions on the renewal letter, which instructs me to go to LRSOC.com, where the first thing I see is 'log in'.

It isn't clear there that this is to the forum, although slower examination shows renewals further down the page in smaller letters.

Perhaps it would be helpful if either the instructions in the renewal letter or (much better) the web site were made clearer.

Or is it just me?  ;-((  Doh!

It is not just you there have been several instances where this has happened.

I agree!

I think the logic of those drafting the renewal letter was that it would encourage those with a computer to visit the Club's website but to be honest its just plain confusing.

I have asked for this to be changed previously as the membership service are getting peeved at having to explain the difference between the club website and the membership website.

Will bring up again at next committee meeting. :undecided:

Can we renew subs via the forum now, or is this still under discussion?
May be I am looking in the wrong place, but cannot see where to go to do this.
Thanks.

On the 'Home' page click on 'About the Series One Club'  and then go to the bottom left of the page and click on the membership bit.  That should take you through to where you can join /rejoin with either Paypal or a credit card.

I though this was probably a more appropriate place to ask this than starting a new topic.

I have just attempted to renew my membership online, something I have done successfully for some years now, but as usual I have completely forgotten my renewal password. No probs, thinks I, I will click on the "Forgotten Login Details" button which is conveniently provided for seniors with memory issues such as me.

The only problem is that it no longer works - "javascript:void(0);"  :(

It is likely that I have noted my password somewhere and I may even be able to find it, but I thought that flagging this up might be sensible.

Haha! I have found my password, so that problem is solved, however the fact that the button doesn't work probably merits attention from our skilled facilitators and web gurus.

Just to echo what Willerby has said, thank you for pointing this out.

I have asked our membership people to look into the problem as a matter of urgency.

Chris.
2 Thanks.

You're welcome, but really it is we, the membership, who should thank you (probably a lot more often than we do) for everything you do for the Club, the forum, and the website.

4 Thanks.
