Hello everybody, my name is Andrew and Iíve just joined after acquiring my first series 1.
I bought it locally and Iím going to pick it up this evening and drive it home which is approx 20 miles.
Itís a 1951 16 cc , nut and bolt rebuild.
I used to have one of these when I first learned to drive back in 1973, it cost me £65 from a local garage, this one cost a little more !
I had it for about 18 months and it never let me down, I didnít ever do anything to it apart from check oil a few refuel it.
Since then I driven different makes of cars then in about 1993 I bought a discovery , had that for a few years then I reverted to a defender and never looked back. Some years ago I had a 1958 series two but always yearned for a series 1 again. So now Iíve fulfilled my dream.
Best wishes to you all.
Andrew

Welcome to the forum Andrew and back to Series 1 ownership. They are fun vehicles so you should enjoy it. Please post some photos when you have collected it.
