Hi and welcome back.Wow - you really are Chris Rea! Will you be driving home for Christmas on the Road to Hell?Sorry - bet you have never heard that before.Good luck with your restoration.Nigel.---No , he wrote the Road to Hell on the way back to his 'home' town of Middlesbrough
The three best things to come out of 'the Boro'...1 Musically: Chris Rea2 Journalistically: Steph McGovern3 Geographically: The A171 up onto the North York Moors (where I live)!
Having enjoyed Bob Mortimer's humour and more recently his pairing with Mr Whitehouse in the BBC's 'Gone Fishing' series, I'd add Bob to that trio. That programme really did so much to lift my spirits following my recent health battles. I rather suspect they hadn't expected it to prove so popular but for me starting out my career in fisheries and rivers half a century ago, it was a doubly profound welcome change from the violence and media hype these days. The series has been brilliantly funny about a subject that so many love and enjoy, with Chris Rea making his guest appearance in a previous Christmas special to the one just passed. that was great too. I've not had the pleasure to meet such iconic folk but they are an example of what we can still produce in this country, threaded with good humoured banter and comradery. Well worth viewing if any one hasn't yet, even if fishing is not your scene. Chris, welcome back to the fold and what an excellent truck to be able to enjoy again.Malcolm
Whitehouse, not Whitehorse. Bloomin’ predictive text!
