It doesn't take an hour to get the roof off ;-)  "Bit of a sloppy gearbox" indeed.  I don't know what he means about '51 being the last of the Series 1s, which went through '58 ... perhaps he means Mark 1s.  That said, it's a fun video to watch ... although I must say I like the one my son made for the LRSOC "Home From Home" rally last year better https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EXninQhJZnE ;-)

I watch a lot of YouTube clips, and I've noticed something.  There's an old saving "saving your first hundred is hard, but saving your second is easy ..." continuing up through thousands and millions.  I think something similar occurs with popular "YouTubers"; I notice many which, as the creator of this one "Petrol Ped" does, have c. 100,000 subscribers, and the next step up seems to be 1,000,000, at which point one can quit one's day job https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC5I2hjZYiW9gZPVkvzM8_Cw .

My No2 nephew is a professional trials cyclist... he posted some of his early stunts on YouTube, and that has grown to a weekly vlog that is (while lockdown has prevented the big displays) his only source of income.  He was recently awarded a plaque by YouTube for having reached 100K subscribers!

Yes, there may have been a couple of inaccuracies in the video but in my opinion this is totally forgivable as it is so nice to see the genuine enthusiasm and continual smiles.

I enjoyed it for what it is, a chap totally excited to drive a very special car! 👍

The advert says 1.6 petrol,  52 model year and matching numbers. I would have thought this would have originally been a 2 litre in which case matching numbers canít be right? (I do know all the numbers wonít be the same of course...)

Addendum:  I looked further at the ad, and under the specs (which I hadn't opened before) it confusingly has "Engine: 1.6" and right underneath "Capacity: 1977cc" .  Also, since the ad says "Many of Ken's restorations are in Museums including Land Rover Heritage, Coventry, British Heritage and a German Motor Museum, and are rarely available for private sale.", I wonder if this is one of the Wheelwrights from LandyPoint https://landy-point.de/ .

Clearly the vehicle offered for sale and shown in the video is a 1952 model going by the many features for that year and the 26160854 serial number on the bulkhead plate which indicates 1952 RHD export. The engine has the features of a 2 litre engine as would be expected.

The driver in the video obviously not familiar with early Land Rovers, or perhaps putting on an act, and conveyed quite a bit of mis-information. I was surprised by the apparent slack in the steering and was waiting for the crunch or clunk into second gear without double declutching, which thankfully did not seem to happen or was not apparent.
