On a S1 the radius of the wheel arch cut out is the same , front and rear, on all  models. Because on 88/109 models the front axle was moved forward 2", but the mud guard only 1" the wheel doesn't sit in the centre of the arch. The shape of the cut out is the same.

They’re different profile around the wheel arch to normal wings

Yep I hadn’t spotted that, very subtle! Maybe the outers had been messed about with previously Defender style with wide extension now removed!
From chassis number it is definitely a late LBG model so with some parts changed it could make a decent example providing there were no other oddities lurking.
