Hello guys! a doubt here , can anyone tell if in series 1 that piece that holds the hood that has a spring inside, if it had any period or year that the upper part of the fitting was golden , like polished brass ?
I'm replacing my Series 1 107 1956 ones, and I was in doubt as to whether I'd order galvanizing and polishing the golden head.

Be careful getting them galvanised tey can end up as a solid block
From my observations of vehicles ive owned 54 /55 had some kind of brass plating 56 had galvanised the tubular bit always galvanised (not hot dipped) but so many bits get swapped around who knows?

yes Alan, thanks for the tip, I will galvanize it cold, I did it on my 52 Series 1 and it was good !!
