Born in Tanganyika where I owned a 86 inch series 1 before graduating to a series 2A.Moved to Australia in 1970 and was without a land rover till 1992 when I purchased a series 2A.My daily drive from 1995 to now has been a 200 TDI and now a 2000 TD5 130 inch. Presently I am restoring a 1955 86 inch in my shed.

Hi, welcome to the forum. I've also got a 200Tdi and a 1955 86"! Have you got any photo's of your 86" we all like to be nosey on here.

Hi all, I am Stephen from Malta. I own a series one 1954 86" land rover chassis number 57107116[/font] and it is the joy of my life!  I found out it rotting away ina field some four years ago.It was fitted with a 2.2 ltr diesel bmc engine, the bulhead was beyond repair and and the rear cross member was in a bad shape and most of the small bits and pieces missing.

I stripped it off to repair and galvanize the chassis, got a new galvanized bulkhead, new hood and sticks, new breaks, exhaust, new seats and a reconed 2.0 ltr petrol spread bore engine. The fuel tank needs to be repaired and I am missing a tail gate. The body I did not do anything to it as I love all the holes, dents ans scratches!! On new years I managed to take it out for a spin.
