What do you tow with yours?

R M Trailers Ltd, Alresford. 8x4 mesh-side trailer with rear ramp. massively heavy beast, tows steady as a rock at 70 mph (although obviously not behind a series 1!) I think it might have been ex-Royal Artillery, but not sure. Key thing is that it has LR hubs and wheels, so only need the one spare.

It seems that R M Trailers is nowadays a division of Tex Engineering, and they make bespoke trailers for the MoD and civil organisations. Explains why its built like a tank, even if a little rusty nowadays! I have not seen anything which will quite replace it, hence I patch it up and keep going. Ifor Williams are perhaps the best nearest equivalent, but being aluminium they are much lighter and don't tow so stably......

I thought we were talking about trailers and towing things? If we are - Ifor Williams make galvanised steel trailers and they tow beautifully.

We were out for a walk one afternoon on a quiet country road, for ages we could hear something slowly coming up the hill behind us in low gear - turned out to be a S1 lugging a Field Marshall on a trailer !

Sadly didn't have a camera or phone.....

Almost anything that does not look like a caravan and a car in my experience. Once attempted to enter an Open to all comers CC site with a foreign registered disco + small cruising boat on a trailer ( Explained that a caravan like this boat contains beds seats and a cooker under a roof) We also planned to use a tent. When assured that the boat was not a caravan ( or baggage trailer either) and would have to have been left outside in the main racecourse car park and that using a hammer after 8pm to knock pegs in was against site rules ( It was after 8pm ) ....We left.

Bet you have to be really careful with low bridges given the height of the flag pole

I know it's not vintage but tows well behind the 80 and a perfect fit to carry an 80 when required, the wife gets very suspicious when it disappears off the drive as it gives the ideal piggy back for future projects

One condition owd bob - No copper or brass! weight restrictions applicable

Pulled the logsplitter to the Cheshire Steam Fair this Saturday for it's first outing, attracted some interest at the show which was good, only one series 1 apart from mine there ... maybe others on Sunday don't know?

Well i finally towed the 1939 Standard Gwynne trailer fire pump to its first rally over the weekend at Astle Pk Cheshire, a round trip of about 70 miles and thankfully all went well

Found this pic whilst looking through some old files, used the 80" a few years back as support truck for baling operations through the summer with tools, twine etc. We had two balers in one field to bring back not far from home at the end of the season so we used the 80" since it was handy.
