I am just going through old photos and I found these from 1988.  Who else was in Wales for this event?

This was a wonderful event that I remember very fondly.

What does surprise me is the fact so many vehicles that attended that event, appear to have disappeared / are no longer seen. I cannot understand where they have gone to ?!

1 Thank you.

Looked for ages to find our motor then I realised we were on the 35th run to Anglesey from Solihull. :(
My mind works like lightning, one quick flash then it's gone.

Mike,

I remember the event pretty well including getting part way there and Louise not being sure if she had switched the iron off or not meaning we had to turn around and go back and check.

There is the one shot of MXL 664 amongst the ones posted. The chassis kind of survived the fire..............

Regards

Richard

I have not seen my 80 since I sold it. circa 1998. Completely off the radar now.

If I remember correctly we were split into three maybe even 4 groups and we did 4 venues, two each day, in rotation so these photos are mainly of the group I was in. I think there was a pre-pro in each of the groups...

Well count me as one of the attendees. Proven by the pictures of my Land Rover "HRX456" in some of the pictures and you can't count us as one of the disappeared land rovers/owners
Can any one remember the club's treasurer takeing the wheels off my Land Rover in the show ring? Think he was disappointed when I dident rush out of the bar but continued chatting and drinking in the bar when told about it
I only just finished putting the Land Rover back together in time for this DO! But didn't have time to paint the chassis Haveing had it galvanised, I wonder what excuse I can use for still not getting around to painting it after all this time

Thanks for posting these pictures, brings back happy memories, I didn’t take a camera so have no photo records myself. I was there with my RAF Blue Station Wagon which I owned at the time and which appears in several of the pictures. It’s now owned by a club member but sits forlornly under a tree and hasn’t moved for several years. It was at this event that I first met Peter Griffin,Ken Wheelwright and others where a long friendship ensued.

SXF 863 and I were there, then an all black hard top, a great event much enjoyed and fondly remembered. I took plenty of pictures and will post a few when they surface?

Yes I was there, PMR115, 88 with hard top with side windows and I still have the same vehicle.
