We used to get tens of  thousands of 'grey imports' and 'half cuts from Japan as once their cars got to a magic odo reading of 50,000 kms (approx 30,000 miles) they were banned from public roads.



It was the same in the UK, but I haven't noticed it recently so perhaps it has stopped. 30,000 miles is really only just run in for some cars and sounds a bit Draconian. Perhaps there was more to it.

Our government banned them.
The japs threw them out because the anti-pollution systems only ever lasted that long.
It's the same as the EU now with climate change nonsense.
The new green religion being peddled by the lefties all around the world - no it's not the green oval but the green evil  :embarrassed:
